We had the behavioral specialist to our house last night, and got some bad news about Hero. Apparently we didn't cause this problem. He seems to have a very very very difficult personality, that may never be good around kids. We have several options, naturally one of which is to find him a home that will never have kids in it. The other is try to rehabilitate him. This second option is more appealing, but also more expensive and far far more stressful and work intensive. We just want to be happy. But at the same time, this is the puppy we got. We're not the type to just give up on that.

As the owner of two very special dogs, I completely understand. Thinking of you. ((HUGS))
ah hugs to you
So sorry it was bad news. I hope you're able to rehabilitate him. We have a similar dog and we've found that it took A LOT of work to get her to a good place and if we slip on our consistency, she starts drifting back.
But he's soooo cute, doesn't that count for something?? :) Good luck as you figure out what to do. I happen to have The Most Stubborn Dog on the Planet, personally, so I feel your pain. *hugs*
With a face like that it's hard to believe that he'd be unpersonable!! I hope you figure out the best steps. I've got them crossed for you! :)
Awww.... hope something is figured out!
Oh, he's a cute boy. I hope everything works out, I know it must be difficult for you.
He is really a cute dog. Thinking of you.
Oh, I get that. He's really cute. I had a gorgeous, affectionate, loving blue point modern siamese cat, that I LOVED. loved loved. ... that wouldn't stop peeing in our house. I tried EV.ERY.THING. even antidepressants. (for her!) In any case, I had to give her up in the end, and I still miss her. I really feel for you. It's very difficult. Good luck with rehabilitating him.
I applaud you for not giving up on this animal. I hope it works out the he can be rehabilitated and is forever a part of your family.
