The (unemployment) line in the sand

I have to say it. I have to complain or I will explode. I'm SO sick of job hunting. SO SICK OF IT! I've found a bunch more jobs I want to apply to, but now that means I have to write another 5 cover letters. I HATE COVER LETTERS. For the love of all things good on this earth, make it stop. A job would be a fun way to spend a day compared to this nightmare land of limbo. This. Waiting. SUCKS.

SOMEONE PLEASE HIRE ME!!!!! I am worth my weight in gold, I promise!

I LOATHE writing cover letters. Sometimes when I think about applying for a job, the thought of writing a cover letter is enough to keep me away. Fingers crossed! :) Can I ask what general field you're searching for a job in? I'm just being nosey. :) I wish I knew someone in MN who could give you a rockstar job. j knows a ton of people at banks in MN, but that's probably not what you want.

I hate cover letters, too. I hate everything related to job hunting, it sucks and I sometimes realize I am still at the same job after 7 years because I am too lazy to look for anything else. ;)
Hope it gets better soon.
*hugs*

As a Recruiter. I DESPISE cover letters. Everything in your cover letter should be plain and simply written on your resume anyway. I also hate "Objectives" too, but that's another story.
Good luck, EC. I've got my fingers crossed for you!!
How's Hero doing?

I'm so with you on the cover letters. I hate having to figure out what to say. I'm a fan of a basic form letter myself where I just cut and paste information. Less room for thinking too much. :) Thinking of you and hoping this ends soon!!!

Have you tried using a headhunter? No cover letters with headhunters. All of the jobs I've ever had have been either through a personal acquaintance or a headhunter. I think they're pretty stupid too, but if you're doing your own "direct marketing" of sorts, I guess you have to include one. Also, join a networking group, and also start networking on LinkedIn. Just some general advice. Hope this helps, and good luck, really.

I hate cover letters. I feel like it's redundant- ie annoying.

GL I know that it's frustrating!!

What field do you work in? I know of a company in Minneapolis that is looking to upgrade it's accounting department if you want that info. Also, I have a friend who is consulting as a head hunter for another company and might know something.

Job hunting is the worst! I have a friend who was let go back in July and is still looking. It's such a rough market right now. My company announced today they will be laying people off before the end of the year. Maybe we'll be on the hunt together.

Good luck to you!

Oh, I FEEL YOUR PAIN. I was about to throw my computer out the window SO many times when I was looking for a job. It is so incredibly lame.

If I lived there and had any authority whatsoever, I would TOTALLY hire you! :)

Job hunting is the worst! I've been looking for weeks for a part-time job, not even anything fancy and career related, and am not even getting responses to my resume. It's a horrible job market.

Your blog is great, by the way! I love the design.

you and me, sister. all i can do is hope that you get a break, because, really, that's all anyone needs.

Why don't you pick up a small hobby, to pick up your spirits? When my girlfriend moved out west to be with her husband, she got a part time job at a bead store and beaded for fun. I know that you've probably heard all of this before, but this is the perfect opportunity for you to try something you've always wanted to.

oh, and congrats. i can finally have faith in your country's future too. which means great things for my country's future.

sooooo longest comment ever, sorry. rambling a bit, but wouldn't it be weird to have a specific note only directed to you in my blog....?
