Take that!

And that. And that!

On a positive note, Hero's been a huge help this week. We've been doing tons of "positive reinforcement" training (aka treat training) and he's responding so well. He's a sweet pooch, now that he's getting settled in and calming down :) He's definitely become part of the family.

We've had Moxie (part Bichon Friese/part [we think Jack Russell] for a while now, less than a year, and we've found punishment for pottying in the house just makes him sneakier. We've also realized he goes in the morning, around sunrise. Treats and special attention when he DOES poop outside is working! Chewing things up is discouraged by sharp words and then we give him his chew toys. He's still much a puppy, so he'll get better, he already has. I'm sure Hero will continue to acclimate.

Oh boy... you've had so much to say today. I'm sorry about the reunion. I haven't had to do one of those yet, but I know that it can be really tough... tough as moving to a new town with no friends, etc (yep, I've done that.) Hang in there, and don't feel guilty or selfish. Take some time for yourself. Boston to Minnesota is a BIG change (I thought mine was big--NYC to DC to ATL....)

Ohhh, good doggie!

And how sweet of you to take your friends brownies. You're such a good, thoughtful person, even when you're going through your own stuff. You're so awesome.

Your strength is inspiring. I have felt some of the things you describe--moving to a new town w/ husband, being worn thin with constant social engagements involving "new" people, and trying to smile when people are asking questions that cut to the core. You are wonderful to have particiapated in the reunion at a time like this and not torture Hubs for it (as some women would do). I admire your grace. :) Sopunds like Hero came along at the perfect time.
